Hi, I’m Matthew Monahan

I’m an executive producer and creative technologist with a love for blending storytelling and cutting-edge production tools. Over the years, my work has earned recognition from the United Nations, Cannes Lions, Webbys, Grammys, OneShow, Clios, and many more. At the heart of everything I do is collaboration, curiosity, and a passion for problem solving.

I kicked off my creative journey as an actor at Chicago's Lyric Opera House before diving head first into film and TV production at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. From working with Denis Leary’s Apostle Pictures to joining the team at Sony International, I developed a passion for turning big ideas into even bigger realities. Eventually, I found my way back to Chicago and started my career in advertising, working at Leo Burnett & McGarryBowen. I learned how to manage large scale domestic and international multi-channel productions, and went on to help both companies build and manage their first internal production units.

While at McGarryBowen, I got my introduction to the tech-side of production with Oscar Mayer's "Bacoin"—the first-ever Web3 tokenized launch by a Fortune 500 brand. This kicked off my deeper dive into using technology to reach customers, and brought me to Deloitte Digital. While at Deloitte, I produced award-winning multi-channel campaigns that were recognized by The Webby Awards, Clios, and Cannes Lion. In addition, I helped educate top executives on future production technology, and helped deploy new media activations & Web3 loyalty programs.

In my free time, I perform comedy, play guitar, and work on my vintage motorcycle —all of which keep me sharp and creatively inspired. Whether it’s a massive tech project or a passion project on a shoestring budget, I love finding creative solutions and bringing ideas to life in unexpected ways.
